We were thrilled to participate in our first SpiceWorld conference in Austin earlier this month. The conference is hosted annually by SpiceWorks, a marketplace and community dedicated to supporting the IT industry with resources and technology to make their jobs easier. Automox was part of the first ever Startup Alley, an area in the exhibit hall dedicated to emerging companies that are new on the IT scene with innovative products and solutions.
In Startup Alley, we had the opportunity to engage with IT experts face-to-face, which is always so much better than connecting online. We were pleasantly surprised that there was so much interest from attendees to explore early-stage companies. We executed over 200 demos of Automox’s automated patch management solution and signed up over 100 free trials of Automox right there at our booth. We had our Product Manager, Gavin Matthews, attend the conference to give the IT-focused attendees an inside look into our product roadmap and the features that are coming soon. Gavin was selected to participate in the SpiceWorld 2018 Spice Buddies and Cool Vendor Picks video. Make sure to check it out on YouTube here!
We also had the opportunity to meet fellow marketing peers in the industry, all trying to gain awareness and engagement from their target IT audience. The SpiceWorld conference is definitely a MUST for any company trying to help solve the many security challenges faced by all companies today. While we were there, we announced the release of three awesome new Automox features and gave attendees the first peek into the functionality. Those new features include SAML, RBAC, and custom end-user notifications. Nothing beats watching an end-user try your product and getting real-time feedback about the experience.
On Tuesday evening, we gathered a few of our new friends and treated them to dinner at Eddie V’s, an amazing seafood and steakhouse, which was just a short walk from the convention center. Over scallops and steaks, we learned even more about the challenges IT Managers are facing today, the biggest problems they are trying to solve, and how they evaluate new products and solutions. Patch management and endpoint security was a common theme among this audience and everyone was impressed and encouraged by what they saw from Automox. We are definitely looking forward to coming back next year and doing it all over again!
We were so inspired by the conference that we have decided to sponsor a SpiceCorps meetup in the Colorado area. On December 6th, we’ll be sponsoring the SpiceCorps of Pikes Peak region meetup. If you’re in the Colorado Springs area, be sure to stop by and say hello! Save your seat for the meetup by clicking here.
