Update: We came, we gave, we’ll give some more
September 2, 2022 was Automox’s latest Giving Day and we’re so proud of our team members for showing up and giving back.
Here are just a few of the ways in which Automoxers volunteered to serve their communities.
On giving Friday, Senior Web Developer Erica Harrison donated blood at the local children’s hospital. Since she has tiny veins, Erica started hydrating super early.
People Partner Ashlyn McKesson donated blood to her local Vitalant chapter, too. If you want to try donating blood, think about offering platelets, too. Platelets tend to be used for kids with leukemia and they’re always in need of more donors.
Also, Senior Instructional Designer Amelia Vacante had a great Giving Friday at the Capital Area Food Bank in DC! She boasted about the wonderful facility, the attentive staff, and how well-organized everything was.
Our own volunteer firefighter and Senior Systems Engineer Ted Harapat is in the early stages of establishing a long range wireless network for security cameras to keep the animals at the Colorado Wolf Sanctuary safe and well-cared for.
Environmentalist and Enterprise Business Development Representative Rachel Wright walked over five miles of beach in Virginia Beach and picked up garbage everywhere! There were more bags than she could count. Thanks Rachel for keeping our beaches clean.
Technical Writer and Editor Jon Levenson worked with the rangers at Piedras Blancas Light Station. The recognized state park works toward historical preservation and environmental conservation and Jon will write new educational content for their museum-type exhibits.
