New features provide IT managers greater visibility, automated control, and broader reporting functionality.
BOULDER, Colo. (June 7, 2018) — Automox, a global provider of cloud-native patch management and endpoint protection solutions, today announced the release of a new set of features designed to streamline corporate-wide deployment of the platform, broaden the platform’s catalogue of third-party software support, and enhance the platform's security and compliance, including new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements.
Automox allows security professionals to automate the fundamental basics of “security hygiene”, which is the consistent and repetitive process of patching operating systems and third party software, software deployment, and managing device configurations. These daily processes form the foundation of a strong security framework and reduce a company’s attack surface by over 80 percent.
“At the heart of the Automox platform is our ability to extend a powerful set of user defined controls that allow IT managers to automate the discovery and remediation of both unpatched operating systems and third party software across Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms.” said Jay Prassl, Automox CEO. “Our latest update introduces more granular control of the patching process along with enhancements to how customers filter and report on the vulnerability status of their infrastructure.”
To manage thousands of agents more effectively, Automox has introduced a set of advanced patch policy features that let IT Managers further customize the automated patching process. Customers can now deploy automation policies that combine inclusion and exclusion filters right along with patch severity in order to tailor Automox to their specific business and regulatory requirements. The new release also enables users to now leverage local WSUS servers in addition to Windows Update as their local repository for patch updates reducing network congestion.
Users already have the ability to keep their Automox account secure with email two-factor authentication (2FA), and updates to the platform now enable Google Authenticator or Authy as alternative 2FA providers, enhancing the platform’s security. In order comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Automox’s GDPR Compliance enhancement allows users to easily edit or remove their personal information upon request. The new Automox release also broadens their catalogue of third party software support with the addition of Mozilla’s SeaMonkey,Thunderbird, as well as Microsoft's Office365 suite.
