We are happy to announce the release of Clapton, the name of our latest software update to the Automox platform. It has only been a couple of months since we introduced the Automox platform as a generally available product to the industry, and the reception from our customers has been extremely positive.
Automox stands out as the only platform that enables full endpoint management automation driven by our dynamic policy engine operating with a click-set-forget approach. In our customer’s success lies our success, so our team has been listening diligently and gathering feedback from our customers on the product functionality, user workflows, and overall experience. We have incorporated this feedback into this release along with expanding the breadth of functionality in the product. Here’s a quick overview of what we’ve added with Clapton.
Two-Factor Authentication is now in the product allowing users to strengthen access security by requiring two methods to verify their identity. These factors include something you know - your username and password, plus something you have - an authentication code to verify user identity. This security feature can be turned on/off via the user account settings in the product UI. This popularly requested feature protects your Automox accounts against phishing, social engineering, and password brute-force attacks, and secures your logins from attackers exploiting weak or stolen credentials.
Expanded Third-party Software Capability
Clapton adds native patching support for additional Microsoft software applications. We are continuously expanding our 3rd party software library, and this latest addition is a big step towards automating updates for not just the base Windows OS but several other Microsoft products, including Microsoft Office. Set your patch policy and let Automox ensure these applications are always up-to-date.
UI Improvements & Bug Fixes
There are also a plethora of small improvements and bug fixes in this release including:
- The ability to export reports into csv
- The ability to search and filter the list of automation actions taken
- New and improved feedback widget
- A content-rich documentation site to reduce the effort required for our customers to get help and provide feedback
A lot of effort has been made to improve both the stability and the usability of the product in the Clapton release, as we make great strides down the path of solidifying Automox as the defacto automation platform for endpoint patch management and software deployment.
Facing growing threats and a rapidly expanding attack surface, understaffed and alert-fatigued organizations need more efficient ways to eliminate their exposure to vulnerabilities.
