Automox is rolling out Device Explorer, a new way to search, filter, and report on your endpoints using a query composer and results table that sit alongside the existing device view. Senior product manager Emily Pace explains that you can build searches as simple or as complex as you want, save them for your whole organization to reuse, clone them instead of starting from scratch, and export the results to CSV. Senior software engineer Jack Miller details the engineering behind it, including a new service built on the AWS Neptune graph database that stores device properties as connected nodes so queries across more than a million endpoints return almost instantly. Device Explorer is the first iteration of a query service that will later drive dynamic groups, maintenance windows, policy execution by collection, and expanded reporting.
