Atom is a hackable text editor from GitHub, built on Electron and designed to be deeply customizable. GitHub officially sunset Atom on December 15, 2022 and archived all projects under the Atom organization. The atom/atom repository is now read-only. GitHub retired Atom to further its commitment to cloud-based software development with Microsoft Visual Studio Code and GitHub Codespaces.
